2022 GBR Fixtures
The first open meeting will be Whitstable 14th /15th May where we share the event with the Merlin Rockets. This has been very successful in the past.
Our National Championships will be at Hayling Island, incorporated into the Whitsun Regatta, 3rd-5th June.
As we are unsure how many boats would attend an open meeting we decided to advertise open dinghy regattas.
These will be;
* Castle Cove on July 9th / 10th (note entries will be restricted to 90 boats,)
* Whitstable Week 25th – 29th July (this is a club race week open to visitors)
* Chichester Harbour Race Week (formally known as Federation Week) 15th – 19th August. Class racing is usually available if 10 or more boats enter in advance.
* Finally there is the Royal Torbay Dinghy Regatta 8th / 9th October.
The committee is aware that these events are based in the south. We hope to spread out a bit more next year.
As single class open meetings are seldom financially viable for sailing clubs, we anticipate that it will be necessary for the Tasars to share more open meetings with other classes in future years. I am seeking links with other class associations and also currently looking for venues for our Nationals 2023 – 2025. If you know of any classes that would like to share an event, or if your sailing club is willing to run an open meeting, please get in touch.
More adventurous teams might consider entering the World Championships in Seattle, USA, September 17th – 25th.
The Tasar GBR website EVENTS PAGE has further information.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the water this year.
